Indian Women Cricket Team wins Gold in Asian Games 2023

On Monday, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team won Gold in the Asian Games 2023 by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final match of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. It was a low-scoring match in which Team India has achieved success. The Indian team is participating in the Asian Games for the first time and in its very first year won the gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka. This is the first gold medal for the Indian women’s cricket team in the Asian Games. This final match was played at ZJUT Cricket Field in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.

Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first but India had a bad start. Shefali Verma got out after scoring 9 runs in 15 balls. After this, Samriti along with Jemimah Rodrigues made an important partnership of 73 runs for the second wicket.

This partnership was broken by Ranavira. She broke and dismissed Mandhana. Mandhana scored 40 runs in 45 balls with the help of four fours and a six, while Richa scored 9 runs, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, returning to the team after a two-match ban, could score only 2 runs. Pooja by scoring 2 runs.
