Afghanistan’s second consecutive win in ICC World Cup 2023, Afghanistan has moved up to 5th in the point table. With this, Afghanistan’s hopes of going to the semi-finals remain intact. Afghanistan’s points are now equal to Australia and New Zealand. But due to the run rate being in minutes, Afghanistan is at fifth place. Afghanistan defeated the Netherlands by 7 wickets in the match being held at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow. Due to this Netherlands’ hopes of reaching the semi-finals have diminished. This victory was very important for Afghanistan, which has been performing consistently well, due to which they registered it in 31.3 overs and Afghanistan’s second consecutive win in ICC World Cup 2023.

Afghanistan defeated the Netherlands by 7 wickets

The Netherlands team did not have a special start after winning the toss and batting first. Their opener Batsman Barresi was dismissed by Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the very first over.

Ackermann, who came to bat after him, played a good partnership with M. O’Dowd and took the Netherlands beyond 50 runs on the last ball of the eighth over, while the Netherlands made a good start and scored 66 runs by one wicket in the first power play.

The best bowling spell for Afghanistan was done by Mohammad Nabi, who took three wickets in 9.3 overs after conceding 28 runs in one medal over.

The Afghanistan team displayed good fielding performance and ran out 4 Netherlands batsmen, which resulted in the Netherlands middle order getting out early.

After restricting the Netherlands to a score below 200, the Afghanistan team came to bat and did not have a good start. Their star batsman Gurbaz was out early in this match too.

Afghanistan’s first wicket was in the form of Gurbaz for 10 runs while Afghanistan’s second wicket was in the form of their opener batsman Zadran who was out for 20 runs. Netherlands’ spinner Roelof van der Merwe dismissed him.

Afghanistan’s star batsman Rehmat Shah and captain Shahidi handled the innings and took Afghanistan beyond 100 runs in 18.3 overs. Rahmat Shah and captain Shahidi added 50 runs for the third wicket partnership.

Rahmat Shah completed his third half-century of this World Cup with the help of 8 fours in 47 balls.

Afghanistan got the third blow in the form of Rahmat Shah, who was dismissed by Saqib Zulfiqar on the personal score of 52 Runs.

After him, Inform Azmatullah Omarzai came to bat and, partnering with captain Shahidi, took the Afghanistan team beyond 150 in 27.1 overs.

Captain Shahidi completed 50 runs in 59 balls with the help of five fours. Captain Shahidi and all-rounder Amarzai added 50 runs for the fourth wicket partnership.
